As with most non-profits, Texas Emergency Cleanup Services was founded organically. In 2002, a horrific crime occurred at a family friend’s business in Fremont, California. One friend was wounded, and another lost their life. No one in our family was prepared for this heartbreaking event, which was only made more devastating when we learned we had to clean up the crime scene ourselves.
First Responders Are Not Allowed To Help
Like most families, we assumed that after the investigation was complete, full cleanup would be provided by the Police, Fire Department, or some other government agency. While most first responders would sincerely like to do more to help, they are not allowed.
This left us considering the unthinkable of cleaning up our loved one’s bodily fluids ourselves. We even tried calling local cleaning services, only to be turned down—often in a less than compassionate manner. There are few cleaning services in the Houston area who will clean up bodily fluids and hazardous materials, and the few willing to tackle the job charge unreasonable rates.
We simply had nowhere to turn, and we knew that our family was not alone, which is when I launched Texas Emergency Cleanup Services—a registered a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Crime Scene, Emergency, And Accident Cleanup Is Our Specialty
Most of our staff are current or former first responders or individuals who have themselves experienced a tragic and untimely loss. They are compassionate individuals, who understand how unbearable the thought of having to clean the aftermath of a suicide or homicide. They are also fully trained in our specialized area of cleanup, we are a registered non-profit in Texas and insured, and in full compliance with all state and federal regulations.
Safety is always top of mind, which is why we use the latest technology and take extra steps to protect ourselves and those we serve.
Our Rates Never Exceed $2,500
At Texas Emergency Cleanup Services, we are committed to keeping our costs as low as possible. We fund our day-to-day costs with our nonprofit mattress recycling and event recycling services—allowing us to charge you only for the true cost of your cleanup and nothing more. Even if it costs more, we never charge you more than $2,500 per cleanup, whereas our for-profit counterparts charge as much as $50,000!
Our goal is to ease the stress in an already challenging time by allowing you to return to your home or business as soon as is safe to do so, and to save you the unthinkable responsibility of attempting the cleanup yourself.
